Try your luck on a frozen lake with local guidance
Ice-Fishing Trip
Ice fishing or pilkki (as it’s called in Finnish) is one of the most popular hobbies from the locals. On a beautiful, frozen lake you try to catch as much fish as possible.
You’ll walk a short distance to the lake. Your guide will explain how to drill a hole and how the fishing rods work. You may catch perch, whitefish, roach, pike or even grayling. If you caught fish, your guide will show you how to prepare the fish by an open fire.
During the break you can also enjoy coffee, tea and a snack.
The activities are open departures and program will be done if minimum 4 persons is joining. We will notify you at the latest by 3 p.m. the day before if the program is cancelled.

What’s Included
Activities are guided and include all necessary gear and winter outfit. If you need winter equipments, come to the meeting point Ruka Safaris Safari center 20 min earlier.

Pick-up available from central Ruka area from certain pick up points. Details provided upon booking.
Booking & Cancellation
Minimum of 4 participants required for departure
Confirmation or cancellation will be sent by 3 p.m. the day before
In all cancellation’s office fee 50 € will be withheld
100% cancellation fee if canceled 14 days or less before the tour
50% cancellation fee if canceled within 20-15 days
Cancellation free of charge until 21 days before the date of the tour (except 50 € office fee)
