When sun sets and the winter forest is covered in blue light we head out with our snowmobiles. This tour heads into the quiet and dark forests where, if we are lucky, we can see the northern lights above us.
During the tour we will stop for a break in a traditional kota teepee and enjoy coffee by an open fire as our guide tells us about the stars. You can enjoy your hot drink outside and marvel at the stars above and possible dancing lights.
Even if the northern lights would not show themselves the experience of driving in the dark forest is something to remember!

Please note: Northern lights sightings cannot be guaranteed because they are subject to weather conditions and solar activity.
The activities are open departures and program will be done if minimum 4 persons is joining. We will notify you at the latest by 3 p.m. the day before if the program is cancelled.

What’s Included
Activities are guided and include all necessary gear and winter outfit. If you need winter equipments, come to the meeting point Ruka Safaris Safari center 15 min earlier.
Pick-up and Meeting
Pick-up available from central Ruka area from certain pick up points. Details provided upon booking.
Booking & Cancellation
Minimum of 4 participants required for departure
Confirmation or cancellation will be sent by 3 p.m. the day before
In all cancellation’s office fee 50 € will be withheld
100% cancellation fee if canceled 14 days or less before the tour
50% cancellation fee if canceled within 20-15 days
Cancellation free of charge until 21 days before the date of the tour (except 50 € office fee)
