Reindeer sleigh ride under the beautiful evening sky

Magical reindeer sleigh-ride in the darkness of our winter wonderland. The 1,5 km route goes through a dark forest led by a reindeer, with you in the warmth of reindeer hides.

The wintery nights have their own atmosphere and the ride can be enjoyed with all senses. Hear how the sleigh slides on the frozen snow, the reindeer foot steps, winter noises surrounding us as well as the mysterious setting.

With a hint of luck we can watch the glorious night sky with millions of stars or maybe the lovely moonlight. If you are really lucky, you may see even the northern lights dancing on the sky while enjoying the ride.
During the evening you will also enjoy a snack by the open fire. The tour will take about 2 hours.

Please note: Northern lights sightings cannot be guaranteed because they are subject to weather conditions and solar activity.

The activities are open departures and program will be done if minimum 4 persons is joining.  We will notify you at the latest by 3 p.m. the day before if the program is cancelled

What’s Included

Activities are guided and include all necessary gear and winter outfit. If you need winter equipments, come to the meeting point Ruka Safaris Safari center 45 min earlier.

Pick-up and Meeting

Pick-up available from central Ruka area from certain pick up points. Details provided upon booking.

Booking & Cancellation

  • Minimum of 4 participants required for departure

  • Confirmation or cancellation will be sent by 3 p.m. the day before

  • In all cancellation’s office fee 50 € will be withheld

  • 100% cancellation fee if canceled 14 days or less before the tour

  • 50% cancellation fee if canceled within 20-15 days

  • Cancellation free of charge until 21 days before the date of the tour (except 50 € office fee)
