Comfortable Traditional Log Cabin in Kylmäluoma

My Little Mökki is a cosy and well-equipped traditional log cabin located just 30 minutes from the centre of Taivalkoski.

Situated on the shore of beautiful Lake Kylmäluoma, the cabin offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. The hiking trails of the Kylmäluoma Hiking Area and the spectacular Julma-Ölkky canyon are nearby, while Hossa National Park and Kuusamo are approximately 45 minutes away by car.

Cabin and Amenities

The 30 m² cabin is ideal for two guests but can accommodate up to four.

The cabin features:

  • Living and dining area
  • Kitchen
  • Double bed in the loft, accessible by ladder
  • Sofa bed in the living area
  • Wood-heated sauna
  • Outdoor dry toilet
  • Electricity
  • Underfloor heating
  • Wood-burning stove

There is no running water. Drinking water is provided, and water for washing and the sauna can be collected from the lake.

Enjoy the Outdoors

The area in front of the cabin is perfect for enjoying the surrounding nature in both summer and winter.

There is a campfire site for relaxing outdoors and a private dock where you can fish, enjoy the peaceful lake scenery or admire the Northern Lights.

The cabin has its own parking space. Electricity is available for electric vehicle charging or vehicle heating.

Meet the Huskies

A small pack of five friendly huskies lives in a large enclosure near the cabin. Guests are welcome to come and meet them!

Outdoor Equipment Available for Guests

A selection of equipment is available for summer and winter activities:

  • Canoe / Canadian-style rowing boat for three people
  • Snowshoes for winter adventures
  • Ice fishing equipment
  • Casting rods and fishing gear
  • Ice auger
  • Ice saw for making a hole in the ice for winter swimming
  • Small smoker for smoking fish or meat over the fire

My Little Mökki offers a unique combination of peace and quiet, traditional Finnish cabin life and year-round outdoor activities in the beautiful nature of Kylmäluoma.
